Bidearen deskribapena

This walk starts in Iere Village and traverses the Naparima-Mayaro Road to the village of Palmyra. It then continues along the Manahambre Road through the villages of Ste. Madeleine, Cedar Hill and Manahambre into Princes Town. From Princes Town it returns to Iere Village via the Naparima-Mayaro Road. The Naparima-Mayaro Road is mostly fine for walking but is narrow in many areas. The traffic density along portions of this road is quite high between the hours of 6:00am to 9:00am and again from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. The sidewalks are in a state of disrepair along most of the road so you have to take your chances walking along the road with the arrogance of the Trinidadian driver. Three factors need be considered when doing this walk. Firstly, there's no canopy cover so it should be done in the early morning or late evening. This factor makes this "moderate" and not "easy" as it should be. Second, drivers in Trinidad and Tobago exercise no respect for the rights of pedestrians to use the roadways, so be vigilant! You get hit in Trinidad and Tobago as a pedestrian and it somehow becomes your fault. Thirdly, there are major problems with complacent dog owners in Trinidad and Tobago. Dogs are usually left to roam free along the roadways and you will be literally chased down the road. My advice is to walk with a stick or a rod to deal with that problem. There should be some kind of legislation coming, hopefully in our lifetime, to deal with dangerous dogs and complacent owners.....
Happy Trails...
