Nondik gertu: Shipbourne, England (United Kingdom)
The trail follows the green sand trail to Knole House - according to the wikiworld it ranks among the top five largest houses in the UK, by any measure. We only looked at it from the outside, and found it nice and big. We left the interior to another visit and proceeded towards the Bucks Head Inn, but failed to secure a lunch without prior booking (on a Saturday). Hungry, we continued to the next pub, which we thought to be in the village of Stone Street, according to Google. Alas, it was closed and indeed for sale, and looked pretty rotten from the outside.
So we took out our emergency Müsli bars, which secured our return to Ightham Mote.
While the area appears to be in a rather populated area, the trail is surprisingly varied, and has a sufficient large number of muddy patches and steep inclines to rate it as moderate (instead of easy). It is, indeed, a trail of great scenic beauty, in easy reach if you happen to be solo (south of London).
