As usual in Lebanon, every hike reveals hidden treasures — forgotten ruins left to nature’s care.
This trail was no exception. Along the way, I came across old mills, abandoned houses, and finally, resting quietly in the heart of the valley, the serene and evocative St. Elias Church. Modest yet beautiful, this small church seems to whisper tales of the past, possibly dating back to Byzantine times.
The path itself is easy and pleasant, suitable for all levels, mostly a dirt road, ideal for those seeking a peaceful escape. You’ll walk among ancient olive trees, descend gently into the valley, and enjoy breathtaking views of lush greenery all around.
Perfect for a calm half-day escape into nature and history.
