Bidearen deskribapena
This is a simple and pleasant route not far from Tbilisi. The trail officially passes through the Algeti National Park. In Manglisi, you can find the park's administration office, where you can get the keys and pay for an overnight stay in a cabin. The cost is 20 GEL per person.
The cabin has a stove, which heats the room quite well. After the cabin, the marked and maintained trail winds around low mountains and descends into a small valley of one of the Algeti River’s tributaries. On the descent, we decided to take a shortcut and stopped following the trail markers — don't let that bother you. In the valley, there is a shepherd's farm, where you might encounter dogs.
The trail loops back to Manglisi, from where you can take a minibus or taxi back to the capital.
In early March 2025, we found freshly fallen snow, but even in the shadiest spots on the north-facing slopes, it was never deeper than knee-high. There weren’t many such spots either. Spring and autumn are also good times to visit.
