Nondik gertu Monrovia, Montserrado (Liberia)
The start and end of the track is down town Monrovia at the start of the Tubman boulevard.
The road start on tarmak through Sinkor and Paynesville and exit Monrovia in the direction of Kakata on the Kakata Highway. Recently, this road has been improved considerably, so the first 30km of the road will go relatively fast, assuming there is not that much traffic in Monrovia.
After passing Nelson village, you leave the Monrovia-Kakata highway and go in the northern direction. Here the road will become more curvy and will slowly deteriorate to a dirt-road.
Before you get to the main river you turn right and follow a dirt road in the northern direction. You will pass a quarry. Further up the road, you will see the entrance to the construction site of the hydra plant, but don't take this entrance. Just continue to the village.
At the end of the road, take a right turn and circle around the village towards the dam, until you reach the way-point "Detour Start". From this point, you used to be able to pass a dam across the river, but this dam has been destroyed and therefore you have to follow a detour as indicated on the track until you get to way-point "Detour End". Hopefully, the dam will be restored in the near future and you will be able to go from way-point "Detour Start" to "Detour End" without much effort.
After the second way-point, the road resumes and you pass the second dam of the hydro-plant. After passing the dam, follow the road to the right and from there, the road will follow the river for the most part all the way back to Brewersville.
For the entire track, a 4WD is not strictly needed, but will make the road much more comfortable. Enjoy the road as much as we did.
